Some watercolors, a few words
Monday, April 2, 2007
This is a pretty ugly building, just to look at in passing, but it was pretty and sort of drowsy and shadowy looking the other day.
These are some soft dolls I got when I was in fourth grade. They are the girls from Little Women, of course. I was a weird kid, or maybe just versatile. I'd be playing Little Women or out with the gang of boys, playing Tarzan, dinosaurs or army. Anyway, we used to go to a farmer's market downtown, and a woman there made these. I think Mama Moss used to sell some of her cakes there, around Christmas time.

Stuff I want to draw and paint, bullet style
I found the original for this image on a Bee Morrison tutorial. It was kind of fun to do my version.
Can I rememberthe stuff now?
* Looking out past the patio, there are some tall pines I like a lot.sure they don't give cool shade, but they have a fluffy, watery look as they go up higher. Add in the brick wall on the edge of the patio with the plants and a little of the windsock streamers.
*Coming back uo St. Andrews the other day, I was suddenly seeing the cemetery more clearly, or starkly. Probably because the day had that sort of gray blue sky and the trees in the background were all still bare
* On Friday, W got in some trouble, dancing on top of the luggage rack on their van. Not that we were suprised, but since the van was parked in Pep Boys parking lot, he could have gotten hurt n amazingly new ways. The image of him is hanging on though. It may be just a silhouette.
* We went out last night, to have this fairly calm family dinner. W had gone to a college baseball game, M was working on that side of town, and Hoot wanted to get out of what she'd kind of planned to do last night. A lot of good images, but I definitely liked KG with her green balloons and her spring colors outfit. Oh, to be two again. Well, no, not really.

Things that waste time, cause I'm NOT there
I want to be here.
There's so mch in my head that I want to draw and paint. Last night, I started this journal, but was (and still am) frustrated with not being able to resize and change the resolution on images. At least, not without going on the PC. It's ironic that I still useed the first software I ever had when messing around with digital images for so much.
What I was using was Adobe Photo Deluxe 4.0. The software that came with my old scanner that's gone now. After I moved here and got the new PC, it didn't seem necessary, since I have the all in one. B talked me into letting it go, now I could kick both of us.
After downloading a few image programs, loading and reloading the photo Deluxe info from disc, maybe I should look into a small printer for the laptop. No, it would be a waste of money, but still.
